The offered Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda was completed in 1969 in the Mercedes factory and delivered to the USA. The elegant color scheme in Sand Beige Metallic in combination with cognac-colored interior emphasized the elegant appearance to a very special extent even at that time. In March 1972, the car was sold by its first owner to London, Great Britain. It came into the possession of a diplomat's family who lived next to Primrose Hill not far from the wonderfully beautiful Regent's Park, in an elegant area of London. Presumably it was the lady of the house who used the car in London and in Geneva, Switzerland. After about 30 years of ownership, the family decided to sell the Pagoda. So in February 2001, a Swiss restaurateur from picturesque Fribourg in western Switzerland took over the Pagoda. During his ownership, a factory exchange engine was installed at an authorized Mercedes-Benz partner in July 2001. The original invoice for just under CHF 30,000 is available. In 2003 the car was acquired by a German manufacturer for his collection. He had the Pagoda professionally overhauled where necessary and restored it to its current dream condition. After almost 20 years in collector's possession and care, the chic roadster is to get a new home. Take your chance on a solid vehicle, with a great traceable history. We are happy to advise you.
